Marker Club

Have you ever laid out the perfect scrapbook page or card, having carefully chosen your cardstock, designer series paper, stamp sets and ink, only to realize there's something missing?  Do you have some sentiment stamps that cry out for more than one color?  And what about those wonderful floral stamps, do you really want the stem and flowers to be the same color?  Wouldn't you like to have your journaling or signature on a card, coordinate with the entire layout?  Well, I have the answer.  Stampin' Write markers.  In every color.

Stampin' Write markers are water based dye ink, acid free markers with dual tips; one fine for handwriting or outlining and the other, a flexible brush tip to add color to your stamped images.

You could scoot on over to my Stampin'Up! online store and place your order for Many Marvelous Markers, item # 119806; all 38 colors in our color collection (except Whisper White and Very Vanilla) in one sturdy case with extra space for In Color markers.  It's $109.95 plus sales tax and shipping.  And then you'd want to coordinate those markers with our cardstock, because, after all, they match our cardstock perfectly.  You'll want to order from each of our color collections, brights, subtles, regals and neutrals; respectively item #'s 119706, 119704, 119705, 119707 at $6.95 each for a total of $27.80.  Of course, then you'll want our Very Vanilla and Whisper White cardstock, which are the perfect surface on which to stamp your image or sentiment.  Cruise on over to item #'s 101650 and 100730, those are $8.50 each, total $17.00.  Let's add in a Stampin' Write Marker in Blush Blossom which is perfect for adding certain flesh tones to stamped images, that's $3.50.  Ready to write your check for $185.13?

What if you could get all of the above over a 4 month period and enjoy the hostess benefits of an additional $25.00 worth of Stampin' Up! product FREE  for a total for $46.28 (including tax and shipping) a month?  And then, a FREE marker class just for you at the end of the 4 month period.

It's a great way to establish your collection while gaining hostess benefits without having to host a workshop.

Here's how it works:  every month I will order one of each of the items listed above and you will receive 10 markers in one collection (brights, subtles, regals or neutrals), 20 sheets of assorted cardstock in the color collection of your markers, 20 sheets of either Whisper White or Very Vanilla cardstock (brights and subtles get Whisper White and regals and neutrals get Very Vanilla).  Each month only ONE member will receive the Blush Blossom and that member receives the hostess dollars for that month.

I will place the order on the 15th of each month and charge your stored credit card for four consecutive months.  At the end of the four months, everyone will receive the sturdy marker case AND a free, just for you class, to learn a variety of marker techniques.

Sound like something you'd be interested in?  Call, text or email me to get in on this club opportunity soon, there are only two spots left for my first club.

I seriously love Valentines.

Not so much the day, but making them.  How weird is that?  I mean, the day itself is fine but I've never been one to make a huge deal out of it.  Arbitrary romance on a Thursday after a busy work week sorta sets the bar too high for me.  :D

I do, however, very much enjoy making Valentine cards and gifts.  Guess it takes me back to being really young and cutting hearts from construction paper and sticking them to doilies with glue and glitter.  Heh, not much has changed.

Hurry, these special sets are only available until January 21, 2013.  Perfect for kid's Valentine treats or cards.  Mine are on order and as soon as I get them, expect a fabulous treat post!  Stay tuned. Click here to get yours now. Shop our Clearance rack too!

Here are a couple of my Valentines from other Stampin' Up! sets...

It's a New Year

Wow.  Has it really been over a month since I've posted?  The holidays are always crazy and I find having to choose between spending time with my family, crafting and cooking always win out over blogging.  No, this doesn't help my business, but I wouldn't trade the joy of small simple things like spending time with family over it.

It's January and that means the new Spring 2013 Mini catalog is out and ready to be drooled over! There are some seriously gorgeous offerings and I fear I'm going to have absolutely everything in it.  I've already received a couple, a few,  ok a lot of items from it!

I think my most favorite item from the Spring catalog is the Honeycomb embossing folder; it sets such a beautiful background or foreground embellishment.

Don't you love the color combination here?  It's Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Very Vanilla and Bashful Blue.  So soft and homey.  It features the new Tea for Two Designer Series Paper, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Oh Hello! stamp set and Oval Framelit dies from the Spring 2013 mini catalog.  I am totally in love with the large chevron stamp from the Oh Hello! set, it's so versatile.

Haven't seen the Spring 2013 catalog yet? Take a look here.

Liz

Hot Cocoa Spoons

This is, hands down, the best hot cocoa I've ever tasted.  My husband agrees.  It's rich and creamy and oh so comforting on a cold day.  It's also pretty damned good eaten right off the spoon, if you can't wait for the milk to warm.

I found the spoons at thinkgarnish.com which is fast becoming my second favorite website; they have everything and anything you need for food packaging!

Stamp a sentiment or small decorative design on the top of your wooden spoon or popsicle stick.  Don't  stamp too far down the spoon, as you don't really want the ink to touch the milk when it's in there.

1/2 cup heavy cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 cups chocolate chips (I use a mixture of milk chocolate and semi sweet)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Combine the heavy cream and condensed milk in a small heavy saucepan and heat on medium until steamy.  Turn off the heat and stir in the chocolate chips, allow them to sit and melt for 10 minutes.  Stir to mix, return to heat on low and whisk until smooth and shiny.

Pour into either, small plastic souffle cups (we call them jello shot cups) or into a 9x9 pan that's been fitted with parchment or wax paper.  Wait about 5-10 minutes for the chocolate to somewhat set and add your spoon or stick.  Chill until well set (overnight works best, but hey, who am I to interrupt your hot cocoa fantasies with waiting?) If you're using the small souffle cups, put about a 1/2" of hot tap water into a pan and set the cups in for a few minutes.  You can work the chocolate out of the cup pretty easily, setting the somewhat melty bottom onto a piece of wax paper.

Decorate with crushed peppermint candies (or crushed hard caramels would be great too!) and mini marshmallows.  I make a 'glue' out of confectioner's sugar and a tiny bit of water, you could use melted white chocolate chips or chocolate chips.  Put a thin layer of 'glue' or melted chocolate on the top of the treat and sprinkle with crushed peppermints.  Dip a few mini marshmallows in the 'glue' and stick them on top, and somewhat up the stick.

Add a spoon to 6-8oz of very warm milk, let melt, stir and enjoy!

Stick them in the fridge as you do a few, so that the melted bottoms return to being flat.

Package them in our gusseted cell bags, tied with baker's twine and a cute stamped tag - makes a great little homemade gift.

Paper:  Crumb Cake cardstock, Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Versa Mark
Stamps:  Border Banter, Happy Hour, Mixed Medley
Other:  White Gel Pen, Decorative Label Punch, 1 1/4 Scallop Punch, 3/4" circle punch,  large cello bags, 7/8 Natural Cotton Ribbon, Baker's Twine
